Public Relations Director Responsibilities

The Public Relations Director engages in organizational publicity with small businesses with the objective of acquiring sponsorship or In-Kind donations. This Director will advocate for the enhancement of Proud Scholars engagement within the community and in collaboration with the community from local businesses.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with local businesses to publish timely Proud Scholar information, such as press releases, brochures, and other materials.
  • Scope of work is with any small business in the primary marketing area.
  • In the event that a small business wants to build an event then the Public Relations Director will coordinate with the Local Events Director to implement.
  • Grow local business supporter base, loyalty and traffic for Proud Scholar events.
  • Build and sustain lasting relationships with local business owners and communities.
  • Build database resources for all small business by type.
  • Review all of the content, contacts and addresses to ensure consistency and accuracy of all data on a regular basis.
  • Document presence of companies at events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Advocate on behalf of the Proud Scholars brand with small businesses across all communications channels and vehicles.
  • Report on Public Relations committee and strategy group activities as it relates to small business.
  • Create and document all public relations processes and procedures for future use.
