The scholarship review board is a panel of community volunteers that are independent of the Proud Scholars Board of Directors. They are the final decision makers for scholarship applications submitted by students.


Tom Grogan, an experience educator.


He has worked in education for almost thirty years teaching at the middle school, high school and college level and is currently working part time in retirement as a tutor for athletes at Xavier University. Tom's primary interest has been in teaching academically underprepared students and students traditionally underserved by the educational system.  He has a doctorate in education.

Tom was the faculty advisor for the GLBTQ student group at Cincinnati State from its inception in about 2000 until he retired from full time teaching in 2013.   He has been a member and supporter of Cincinnati's GLSEN chapter since it began and was active in the campaign to repeal Article 12, Cincinnati's antigay ordinance.
